Allegheny County Ballot Return Sites and Satellite Offices
BALLOT RETURN SITE AND SATELLITE OFFICE LOCATIONS, DATES ANNOUNCED
Leading up to the May 19 Primary Election, Allegheny County will staff Ballot Return Sites and Satellite Offices.
Ballot Return Sites
At Ballot Return Sites registered voters who have received a mail-in or absentee ballot can return that ballot in person, directly to a county employee.
A voter may only return his or her own ballot. Voters who are physically incapable of returning a ballot may complete an authorization form to permit a representative to return a ballot on their behalf.
Ballot Return Sites are open the final few days before election day (after the deadline to request a mail-in ballot has passed). This is an important service for voters, as relying on mail service to deliver a ballot to the elections division in the week before Election Day is not recommended.
Satellite Offices
Satellite Offices provide a more comprehensive range of services. Registered voters can request a mail-in ballot, complete it, and return it, all in one place (commonly referred to as over-the-counter voting). Voters can also return their own voted mail-in ballots at satellite locations. No one may pick up or return a ballot for another voter unless they can provide a designated agent form completed by the incapacitated voter.
For the 2026 Primary Election the following Satellite Offices will be in operation on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Dates for over-the-counter voting in the County Office Building will be announced when ballots are available.
Over-the-counter voting by request at the County Office Building ends on May 12, which is the deadline for requesting a mail-in ballot; ballot return is available after that date during the hours listed above as well as during business hours through the day before the election, May 18. Ballots may be returned at the County Office Building between 7 AM and 8 PM on Election Day, May 19.
Please remember:
No photography or filming inside of voting and ballot return locations is allowed.
Voters may return only their own ballots. For individuals requiring assistance in voting or returning a ballot, contact the Elections Division at 412-350-4500.
VOTING IN PERSON? CHECK YOUR POLLING LOCATION
If you plan to vote in person on Tuesday, May 19, you can check on your polling place location on the countywide list of polling places.
You’ll need your municipality, ward, and district to identify your polling place. If you don't have that information, you can find it at the PA Voter Services Polling Place Locator.
Former polling places are identified on Election Day by signage directing voters to the new location.
Polling places are open from 7 AM to 8 PM. Voters in line at 8 PM will be allowed to vote.
POLL WORKERS MAKE DEMOCRACY HAPPEN!
More than 6,000 poll workers will come out to serve Allegheny County voters on May 19. The poll working website offers information about working the polls including training opportunities, hours of service, and payment for the day.
