Join the Conversation, Shape the Future

The City of Pittsburgh’s Office of Management & Budget, in partnership with Neighborhood Services, is proud to announce the launch of its 2026 Budget Engagement Series — a citywide initiative to gather community input and help shape the 2026 budget. This week marks the official kickoff of the engagement series, inviting residents to begin shaping the future of their city, one conversation at a time.

This is your city, and your voice matters. Pittsburgh residents are invited to join city staff for a series of interactive, in-depth budget engagement sessions. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to learn how the city allocates financial resources, understand the state of Pittsburgh’s financial health, and provide direct input into how your tax dollars should be spent.

Why Attend?

Each session will feature:

  • A deep dive into the City’s financial health

  • An overview of how the budgeting process works

  • A breakdown of capital vs. operating budgets

  • Insights into how Pittsburgh balances its budget

  • A hands-on “Build Your Own City Budget” activity in small groups with neighbors and City staff

These sessions are designed to empower residents with the tools and knowledge to help shape a budget that reflects Pittsburgh’s values and priorities. Whether you’re a long-time civic participant or new to city engagement, your voice is critical in this collaborative process.
