Morningside Area Community Council relies entirely on passionate volunteers to bring our neighborhood events to life and connect residents with local leaders. The heartbeat of this effort is our elected council—and we need you.
🗳️ What’s on the Ballot?
Every year, two of our four council positions go up for election. This year, we have an additional open seat due to some bittersweet transitions:
Treasurer: Longtime financial champion, Ryan Smith, is retiring from his role as Treasurer. We owe him a massive thank you for his 10 years of service to MACC!
President (Special Election): Current president, Alex Wreschnig, is moving from Morningside and will be resigning. In his short tenure Alex significantly improved the organizational work that keeps the team running efficiently.
Vice President: A vital leadership role to help steer our community initiatives.
🗓️ Key Election Dates
August Meeting (8/5): Nominations officially open! Come make a nomination (or throw your own hat in the ring).
November Meeting (11/4): Votes will be officially tallied and announced.
🌟 Step Up for Morningside
MACC community events depend on a strong, active council. If you’ve been looking for a way to make a tangible impact in our community this is your moment. All members whose MACC membership has been active 30 days prior to the election are eligible to be nominated as a candidate for that election and to hold office. Plan to join us at the August meeting, or reach out to us directly if you have questions about serving on the MACC board.
