City Pools Will Open June 16

The City of Pittsburgh announced that 16 CitiParks Pools will open on Monday, June 16, 2025. CitiParks successfully recruited, certified and onboarded approximately 162 lifeguards for the 2025 Pool Season.  

"Thanks to the continued hard work and dedication of the CitiParks team in recruiting and hiring lifeguards for the 2025 Pool Season, we’re proud to open 16 pools this summer," said Mayor Ed Gainey. "Their efforts ensure our communities have safe, welcoming spaces to cool off, gather, and enjoy the season." 

CitiParks Aquatics staff schedule plan ensures the safe operations of all open pools.  

Pool hours will be as follows at these 16 Pools: 

Ammon, Bloomfield, Highland*, Jack Stack, Magee, Moore, Ormsby, Phillips, Ream, Schenley**, & Westwood 

Monday – Friday                                                                      

  • 12 – 1 PM: Adult Lap Swim                                                    

  • 1 - 7 PM: Open Swim                                                                

  • 7 – 7:45 PM: Adult Lap Swim 

 

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays  

  • 12 – 1 PM: Adult Lap Swim 

  • 1 – 5:45 PM: Open Swim 

*Highland early Adult Lap Swim will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM. 

**Due to size & capacity limitations, Schenley Pool is unable to host lap swim. 

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays 

  • 12 – 1 PM: Adult Lap Swim 

  • 1 – 5:45 PM: Open Swim 

 

Holidays 

  • Juneteenth - Thursday, June 19, 2025 

  • Fourth of July 

  • Labor Day - Monday, September 1, 2025 

Two pools that will remain closed due to park and pool renovations: 

  • HOMEWOOD: Due to the major park renovation happening in Homewood Park.  

  • SHERADEN: A number of renovations required for the pool and pool building will prevent this pool from opening. 

     

NOTE:  Pool Tags will be available beginning opening day at all open pool entry gates.
