Dia de los Muertos
On Saturday, November 2, Morningside families and friends gathered at the Morningside Community Center to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. The event showcased vibrant Mexican traditions, including an interactive Pittsburgh-themed ofrenda. Attendees enjoyed face painting, art-making activities, and conversations with the Yinzers Unidos Spanish language group.
About Dia de los Muertos
In Mexico, Dia de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. It’s also a joyful occasion to celebrate connections with family and friends through storytelling, art, and delicious food.
A special shout out to volunteers Bethany Narajka and Yazmin Tapia-Martinez for organizing such a great day!
