The Goats Are Ba-a-a-ck

Allegheny GoatScape returns to Morningside!

Allegheny GoatScape

~ by Councilwoman Deb Gross

In 2020, I launched Pittsburgh City Farms to support urban agriculture with all the things it needs to succeed:  supplies, tools, seeds, fruit trees, volunteer coordination and garden planning. In Morningside, I am proud to support the hard work and visionary leadership of the Morningside Community Garden and the Morningside Food Forest.  Since 2020 I have been able to provide supplies from compost bins and mulch to trees, volunteers and goats! Last year we worked with gardeners and the students at the Environmental Charter High School (at St. Raphael’s) to plant 15 native fruit trees and fruiting bushes near the Bocce Courts in Heth's Park! City Farms will be bringing back the goats in early September, so stop by Heth’s Park to see them in action.

You can help by signing up for garden work nights through this fall. Reach out to Kelsey in my office by email kelsey.sheridan@pittsburghpa.gov or 412-527-3753 to get involved.

If you want to meet the goats, check out their website here!
