Morningside Dancer Off to World Irish Dance Championships ☘️

Marley Ervin of Morningside has earned a coveted spot to compete in the 2024 World Irish Dance Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in March.

Marley, a sophomore at The Ellis School, began her journey last November at the Regional Mid-America Oireachtas/Competition in Indianapolis. More than 70 champion-level dancers across 14 states competed for the World Qualifier title where Marley placed 7th.

The road to the World Irish Dance Championships is not without its challenges. Marley's first qualification in 2021 was derailed by everchanging Covid-related travel restrictions and other uncontrollable events which prevented her from participating in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Marley currently dances for the Bell School of Irish Dance in Warrendale. Some of you may recognize her from volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood, the Senior/Community Center, a past St. Raphael student, Morningside Soccer, Our Giving Kitchen Squirrel Hill, and other local groups.
